How do you know you are getting a reliable car when you buy a used car from a dealer?

Examine the car yourself using an inspection checklist. You can find a checklist in many of the magazine articles, books and Internet sites that deal with buying a used car.
Test drive the car under varied road conditions – on hills, highways, and in stop-and-go traffic.
Ask for the car’s maintenance record. If the owner doesn’t have copies, contact the dealership or repair shop where most of the work was done. They may share their files with you.
Talk to the previous owner, especially if the present owner is unfamiliar with the car’s history.
Have the car inspected by a mechanic you hire.
You can find out a used car’s history, which is a must if you’re buying a used car that is not certified

You don’t- If you have to buy from a dealer, go to CarMax- you may not get the best price, but you won’t get ripped off, and you won’t get a piece of junk, they go through their cars pretty thoroughly.

Best way is to take it to a reliable mechanic and have them look it over. They normally charge an hour ($50-$100) for this service and it could save you in the long run as good mechanics will also tell you of problem areas for the specific car.

This really depends on the Vehicle you are purchasing….like with many of the Hondas right now, there are some Incentives that allow us to go well below MSRP….on new anyway.

Used is a little different, but you can see a cars value compared to the selling price by using KBB (Kelly Blue Book) or the NADA Site and seeing what the trade value of the vehicle is….compared to the price you are buying it for….and each place you talk to (Dealers) are different.

So your best bet is to do some research. Try to get as much information about the vehicle as possible. Does it have maintenance records showing oil changes, etc? You can search online at a few different places to find out whether the car has ever been wrecked, stolen, etc.

Past that – the best bet is to take it for a nice long test drive, and either take it to someone, or have them come with you that knows about cars – ask your family and friends if they know anyone. Have them give you an honest opinion of the mechanical condition of the car, this isn’t a gaurantee, but it definitely helps head off the biggest pieces of crap.

Never buy a car that looks like too good of a deal – there is usually going to be a hidden catch. And never be in too much of a hurry to buy a car – look around, and don’t just fall in love with something.

The fact is, cars break, but a lot of it has to do with how well they are taken care of. A lot of sportier cars on used lots are a bad idea, because they have probably been ragged out pretty bad (there are always exceptions of course) but usually people don’t buy a 380Z to drive the speed limit.

Look at lots of cars – look at them online, compare prices, features, and most importantly – get somebody that knows what they are doing to give it a good look over before you buy it.

iPad Available in 9 More Countries – What About iPad Accessories?

I’ve been reading a post on Techcrunch that iPad will be available in nine more countries starting today. Some of those countries are Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands and New Zealand. That’s great news for people in those countries who were probably willing to buy an iPad but couldn’t get it yet. However, when it comes to iPad accessories, not all suppliers ship internationally, therefore it may be a problem buying a specific case or skin if you’re from outside the U.S. As this matter concerns me as well, I tried to see what suppliers deliver accessories for the iPad in some of the countries on the list. I’ve chosen one of my favorite sites, which publishes very good reviews of iPad accessories. At first glance, I can say that perhaps 40%-50% of the accessories I found there can be shipped internationally. I think this should be good enough, if you don’t want a specific case manufactured by a very small company which can’t ship too far away from their headquarters because of the high costs.

This will most probably be only a temporary issue, as I’m sure local manufacturers of gadget accessories don’t waste their time and that they are going to launch their own products soon enough to make iPad owners in those countries happy with their new toy.

I suffer from a severe allergy to a series of cleaning products, therefore even the common activity of washing the dishes causes me a rash as well as other allergy symptoms. That’s the main reason why I’m always seeking for the best chemical free cleaning solutions for my household. I don’t always succeed in my research. For instance, I haven’t found a method to clean my clothes without laundry detergents. I also don’t know how to wash the dishes without dish-washing detergent. My grandmother says vinegar helps, but I really hate the vinegar smell, so I’m not so fond about her method. Anyway, since I’ve got a dishwasher, this is not an issue anymore, as I don’t have to get in touch with the detergent that causes me the rash.

Floor cleaning can also be done effectively only with water. Steam cleaners are the best: they clean and disinfect at the same time, and they use only the power of the hot steam jet to do that. They are the best, believe, me. However, those As Seen on TV handheld steamers that claim to iron the clothes directly on the hangers don’t work as promised. I wouldn’t advise anybody to waste money on such devices.

What else? Chemicals are pretty much everywhere cleaning is needed. Another solution is to buy eco-friendly detergents, but one needs to afford those in the first place, as they cost significantly more than regular detergents.

Apple has announced the imminent release of iPad , a touch screen device that could revolutionize the electronics industry. Apple says the Touch was designed primarily to be characteristic iPad and does not replicate the iPhone, and it included the Web browser only so users could get on Wi-Fi to use the mobile music store in certain places that required a login screen.

However, it may not be, but there is already a very bi-partisan when it comes to taste the new iPad device. Here’s a quick overview of what this is all about. IPAD is essentially a mobile entertainment system. It allows you to watch movies, read e-books and news, games, listening to music, and also email. It is a kind of souped up version of the iPod Touch, except for a much larger screen. With its full color 9. 7-inch screen, it is the size of the DX Kindle from Amazon (one of the largest e-book readers selected currently on the market).

IPAD weighs 1. £ 5 and, according to Apple, has 12 hours of battery life. IPAD can run applications over App Store, and its interface is similar to the iPod, so it will be an easy to use if you already have some familiarity with the latest Apple products. If you like the iPod Touch and iPhone, you must love the IPAD. However, there is an additional feature that can act as a new type of reader e-books as well and now Apple has joined the battle for readers of electronic books. IPAD will allow you to read, download and purchase publications and books in color. This means that you can read your favorite magazines and publications in color. Furthermore, a whole range of iPad accessories will allow users to enjoy their gadget to the max. For instance, the driving wheel will be best for playing NFS III or other car racing games on the iPad.

IPad is elegant and powerful, and works seamlessly with Apple’sS iTunes software free for Windows and Macintosh computers, and with its computer-based online iTunes Store, which sells far more downloaded songs and TV shows than any other legal outlet. This does not mean that anyone in the market for an ebook reader automatically selects the IPAD, though. The kind of marks iPad ebook readers on the market look ridiculous, but they are completely different devices. IPad are computers that can dual as an electronic book reader. It may be a difficult task to the person who just wants an ebook reader to spend the extra money for a device of “fantastic”. Learn to see all your videos, read all your books, listening to all your music, and play all your games and applications. Ipad will win many fans. You can also download stuff with the Wi-Fi, but the capacity of 3G is not yet available on the devices. In fact, IPAD will work while others have failed.

The Tablet PC touch screen is not something new and, in fact, many companies have failed in the past, trying to make a profit on them. Despite these drawbacks, the new iPad seems to have a promising future. Time will tell.

We tried Butch’s Pulled Pork Nachos today at a BBQ cook-off (I think they’re from New Jersey). All of us agreed the food was excellent. Now I would love to duplicate the recipe for a barbeque I’m having this weekend. Does anyone have a similar recipe, or one for this dish? (I can buy the pulled pork at our local restaurant, but need other ingredients). The nachos were very light, & the cheese sauce was yummy.

Chill My Bedroom With No Airconditioning

I spend more time in my bedroom than any other part of the house, I sleep there as well as spend most of my leisure and study time there.
So it is fairly important to make this room as comfortable as possible.
Unfortunatly the room is anything but comfortable in summer.
My room was built by myself a few years ago into the second car slot of a 2 car garage. There was no insulation in the roof however I have now insulated all the walls and ceiling and bought insulating sliding glass door window treatments.
In the corner of my room is a hot water heater which is on 24/7 which adds considerably to my rooms temperature.
My room has think carpet which rests on top of shattered concrete so the carpet has to stay.
There is no window in my room but I installed a vent that sucks air from outside and pulls it in, however it doesn’t work at all during summer because the air outside is very hot.
I have 5 desktop fans on 24/7 which create a cyclone-effect.
The room has 3 PC’s, 2 TV’s and a server PC which generates a lot heat.
The room is thankfully almost dust free due to the lack of windows and I installed dust filters on intake air. However in order to keep it dust free the door to my room needs to be shut and vacuum sealed as much as possible, resulting in the room having a very high pressure.
Air conditioning is out of the question because I already pay a lot on power as it is.
I would also prefer to keep liquids to a minimum in this room due to the expensive hardware that could be sensitive to it.
So with that aside, what can I do to make my bedroom cooler?
at the moment it is 28 degrees Celsius and I can’t wear cloths inside my room.

Pinky is a 10 yr old, spayed, female who likes to go out at night but will tear up the soft garage door insulation around the doors to get in if I’m not there to let her back in. This also applies to any door she seeks entry to, even if she’s inside, such as the pantry door leading to the garage. She has clawed carpet under doors of rooms inside the house that she seeks to get in or out of as well. I don’t want to de-claw her and I’m at the end of my wits to redirect this behavior after applying a battery of methods which have only worked for short periods. So, if any of you has another idea, I’d be grateful.
