What has worked best for me is a steroidal nasal spray. I recommend Nasonex or Beconase AQ. They can take up to five days to start helping.

For me its Allegra-D twice a day all year and allergy shots once every 3 weeks all year. Also when my allergies flair up i usually take Nasonex and rhinocort
Claritan worked for me until it became OTC and then it stoped working. So much for them not changing the formula

I’ve had seasonal allergies so bad that I’ve wound up in emergency…and the only two things that seem to help are
    1) Nasonex – which relieves congestion and can prevent a sinus infection over time. Nasonex is prescription but your GP will more than likely give you free samples before you have to shell any money out.
    2) Benadryll. It makes you sleepy but it works.

daily my allergies are manageable with Claritin.
when I eat something I shouldnt have or know I am going to be exposed to my allergies I take a benadryl.
When I have sinus pressure and build up I use tylenol sinus pressure and pain. Am and Pm. that stuff works pretty well.
Daily I use the sinus rinse.
I am supposed to have surgery, but dont have the nerve to do it. I am so highly allergic to everything it sucks.
